When to visit: 6.30 AM to 12 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM
Tips: Dress conservatively and remain silent. Pictures are acceptable outside but generally not within.
- Bhagamandala Temple
This temple is located where three rivers converge - the Kaveri, Kannike, and Sujyoti. It is a significant destination for pilgrims and is devoted to Lord Shiva. Numerous individuals visit here during large festivals.
When to visit: 6:30 AM to 1.30 PM and 3:00 PM to 8 PM

- Talacauvery Temple
Talacauvery marks the origin of the Kaveri River. The hilltop temple is much revered by people. It is crowded during Tula Sankramana festival in October.
When to visit: 6 AM to 1.30 PM and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM
Tips: Steep walk to the temple. Therefore, do wear walking shoes. No cameras and photography allowed within the temple. Each one brings flowers or coconuts as offerings.
- Igguthappa Temple (Malnad area)
This is a temple dedicated to Lord Igguthappa of the local Kodava people. It is located in a quaint village. The local tradition is found here, and this temple is one among those that hold an annual festival with folk music and dance.
When to visit: Typically 7 AM to 6 PM (check for festival days)
- Golden Temple (Namdroling Monastery, Bylakuppe)
Some 30 km from Madikeri, this Tibetan Buddhist monastery is extremely popular. Its golden structure and peaceful gardens are lovely to behold. You can observe monks praying and even participate in meditation classes. The Tibetan New Year festival here is unique.
When to go: 9 AM to 6 PM
Tips: Be modest in your clothes, remove your shoes while going inside prayer halls, and be considerate. Photography is permitted outside but not inside the temple chambers.
